Today’s question comes from Brian, one of my followers. Brian says: “Could we have some Spanish greetings in your podcast? I’ve found a few websites that list some greetings, but I don’t know how to pronounce them.”
Knowing a few greetings can make your Spanish vacation a lot more enjoyable. In my experience, even if you only know a few words in the language of the country you’re visiting, people often become much more friendly and helpful.
So, to help you make friends with Spanish speakers, here are ten popular greetings. Repeat after me:
hola – hello
¿qué tal? – how are you?
bien, gracias – fine, thanks
buenos días – good morning
buenas tardes – good afternoon, good evening
buenas noches – good evening, good night
hasta mañana – see you tomorrow
hasta pronto – see you soon
hasta luego – see you later
adiós – goodbye
Let’s say those 10 greetings again. Repeat after me.
