In my previous lesson we went through the six forms of the irregular verb DAR in the present tense. Today we’re going to build some everyday sentences with those six forms.
Learning everyday sentences is a great way of mastering the Spanish language fast. Once you know some common sentences, building new ones is a lot easier.
Before we practice saying whole sentences, let’s review the six forms of the verb DAR in the present tense. Repeat after me:
doy
das
da
damos
dais
dan
And here are the six sentences you’re going to master today. All the words in these sentences have come up in previous lessons. Repeat after me:
Le doy cuatro cervezas – I give him four beers.
¿Me das dos cafés? – Can you [singular] give me two coffees?
Le da un té con leche – She gives him one tea with milk.
Le damos tres fotos – We give him three photographs.
¿Me dais una botella de agua? – Can you [plural] give me a bottle of water?
Me dan una camisa – They give me a shirt.
