Spanish tips – How to make it stick
Recently, one of my KeRapido.com website visitors said to me:
“I’m so frustrated with Spanish. I simply can’t remember what I’ve learned. I feel like I’m just spinning my wheels. I feel like I’m going over the same basic words and expressions and nothing sticks.”
Oh, dear! That sounds like me learning English years ago.

It’s so annoying. You spend all those hours learning vocabulary, and it’s gone.
And you’re lucky if you can remember any of the verbs you’ve done.
Why’s that happening? What’s gone wrong?
Spanish tips – The power of focus
The odds are you’re jumping from one website to another. From one Spanish course to a new one.
One day you’re learning Spanish vocabulary with one app. The next one you’re trying the verbs with another.
It’s exciting. But, sadly, no one can become fluent in Spanish that way.
To learn Spanish, and to remember what you’ve learned, you need to focus.
First you need to focus on just one Spanish course.
And then you need to focus on each of the lessons in your course. Starting from lesson one.
It’s tempting to rush from one lesson to the next, but repetition is your big ally.
Go through your Spanish lessons several times, and you’re a winner!
Spanish tips – How to memorise easily
Here’re some tips to avoid forgetting your Spanish:
- Always listen to the recordings in your course several times
- Don’t skip any sections in your course, no matter how easy they are
- Redo each drill in your course until you can get all the answers right
- Always learn words in context, and with recordings
- Avoid learning too many new things in one day
- Aim at reviewing at least 50% of the time you’re learning Spanish
- Do short learning sessions, frequently
That’s how I became fluent in English.
