Spanish expressions with POR: let’s hear them

Today I bring you 10 everyday expressions with POR. The best shortcut to mastering the Spanish prepositions is to become familiar with everyday expressions. That’s why today I’m going to introduce you to 10 of the most common expressions with the word POR. Repeat after me:

• Por ahora :: For now
• Por aquí :: Around here, this way
• Por ciento :: Per cent
• Por ejemplo :: For example
• Por eso :: For that reason
• Por favor :: Please
• Por fin :: Finally
• Por la mañana :: In the morning
• Por lo menos :: At least
• ¿Por qué? :: Why?

When I was learning English, being able to use common expressions like: at least, for example or this way, always felt like a small achievement. There’s something special about common expressions in other languages. When you start to recognise them, and even better, when you start to say them naturally, you suddenly become much more confident with the language. It’s like you’ve climbed to another level. Hopefully this lesson will feel like a small achievement to you.
