Today you’re going to master 10 parts of the body in Spanish.

Today’s question comes from Richard, one of my Facebook followers. Richard sent me a message asking whether we could learn the parts of the body in Spanish.

So, today I’m going to introduce you to 10 of the main words related to the body. And then we’re going to do a listening and a speaking drill.

Here are the ten words you’re going to master today. Repeat after me:

el brazo :: the arm
la cabeza :: the head
el cuello :: the neck
el cuerpo :: the body
el dedo :: the finger, the toe
la espalda :: the back
la mano :: the hand
el pie :: the foot
la pierna :: the leg
la rodilla :: the knee

Let’s say those 10 words again. Repeat after me.

When using those ten words, make sure you pronounce them correctly.

Avoid adding a ‘u’ sound at the end of: brazo, cuello, cuerpo, dedo, mano.

Also, watch out for the short word: pie, foot, pie. Remember how you say the vowels ‘i’ and ‘e’ in Spanish. i – e. Pie.

Notice also that the word ‘hand’, la mano, is feminine, even though it ends in ‘o’: la mano.

And now, let’s do a listening drill. Can you tell me what these 10 words mean?
