The family in Spanish: 10 words
When I was learning English, I always found it easier to learn words by topic. It’s much easier to remember them. That’s why I bring you these vocabulary lessons.
In this episode, these are the 10 family words we’re going to learn and practice. Repeat after me:
el abuelo, the grandfather
la abuela, the grandmother
el padre, the father
la madre, the mother
el hijo, the son
la hija, the daughter
el hermano, the brother
la hermana, the sister
el tío, the uncle
la tía, the aunt
Let’s say them again. Repeat after me.

Now, let’s do a listening drill. Can you tell me what these ten words mean?
el hijo, the son
la madre, the mother
el abuelo, the grandfather
el tío, the uncle
la abuela, the grandmother
el hermano, the brother

la hermana, the sister

And now, let’s do a speaking drill. Can you tell me these ten words in Spanish?
