In today’s Spanish audio lesson I’m going to give you some tips that’ll take you closer to becoming fluent in Spanish.
Those are some of the tips that helped me master English, and other languages.
Hi, welcome to episode 115 of Speak Spanish with Maria Fernandez.
I’m Maria Fernandez, your Spanish teacher. This audio lesson is brought to you by KeRapido.com.
I’m guessing you’ve had a few attempts at becoming fluent in Spanish.
You’ve tried a few lessons here and there, but nothing has really worked for you.
Spanish learning tips: my personal experience
When I was learning English, I tried all kinds of lessons. Many were disappointing, to say the least.
Others were a complete waste of time. But, every so often, I found some real gems.
I became intrigued about how to learn foreign languages fast.
How do you make the most of your time?
What learning mistakes should you avoid? And how do you keep up your motivation, day after day?
Mastering a foreign language is as much about what you should do, as it is about what you should avoid doing.
Spanish learning tips: my free upcoming video lesson
Today, I’m going to give you three of my favourite tips. They’ll give your Spanish a real push within days.
And next week, I’m going to share with you a video with my top 7 tips for becoming fluent in Spanish.
And I’ll also show you the top 7 things you must avoid, no matter what.
Here’re three of my favourite tips:
Spanish learning tips: Number 1
Start speaking Spanish today
From lesson 1, play the words and sentences in your course and say them out loud.
Not quietly in your head, but out loud as if you were talking to a real person.
This will be painfully difficult at first, but you’ll improve really fast.
Spanish learning tips: Number 2
Do short learning sessions, every day
If you’re waiting for the day when you’ll be able to sit down and learn Spanish for hours on end, you’ll never become fluent.
Not even when you retire.
Instead, make the most of what I call “your lost minutes”.
With today’s technology, you can have your Spanish course with you, wherever you are.
Play your video lessons while you queue to get your coffee. Listen to your audio lessons in the gym, while you walk the dog, or in the bath.
I reckon I’ve learnt at least half the English I know in the kitchen and on the bus.
Before I give you the third tip, I want to thank Mike for leaving a five star review on iTunes US. His review title says: “Five stars aren’t enough”.
That really made my day.
Your review helps this podcast get better rankings, and other people like you can find it more easily.
Let’s go back to our learning tips.
Spanish learning tips: Number 3
Keep it super simple
In all languages, most things can be said in many different ways.
Often, specially when you’re a beginner, the simplest way is the best.
It’s tempting to overcomplicate things.
For the time being, keep your sentences short and to the point.
There will be plenty of time for longer sentences later on, when you’re more comfortable with the language.
Spanish learning tips: next week’s video
In next week’s video, I’ll be sharing with you my top 7 tips for becoming fluent in Spanish.
And the main 7 things you must avoid if you want to master the language fast.
